VBScript Setting Statement
The setting statements are . On Error Statementlast updated 11/22/2017to enables or disables error-handling.
SyntaxOn Error Resume Next On Error GoTo 0 ArgumentOn ErrorRequired keyword. to indicate the start of On Error statement.Resume NextRequired keyword. to causes execution to continue after the run-time error.GoTo 0Required keyword. to causes execution to disable error handling set by On Error Resume Next.Remarks- If an On Error Resume Next statement is not used anywhere in the code, any run-time error that occurs can cause an error message to be displayed and code execution stopped. However, the host running the code determines the exact behavior. The host can sometimes opt to handle such errors differently. In some cases, the script debugger may be invoked at the point of the error. In still other cases, there may be no apparent indication that any error occurred because the host does not need to notify the user. Again, this is purely a function of how the host handles any errors that occur.
- Within any particular procedure, an error is not necessarily fatal as long as error-handling is enabled somewhere along the call stack. If local error-handling is not enabled in a procedure and an error occurs, control is passed back through the call stack until a procedure with error-handling enabled is found and the error is handled at that point. If no procedure in the call stack is found to have error-handling enabled, an error message is displayed at that point and execution stops or the host handles the error as appropriate.
- On Error Resume Next causes execution to continue with the statement immediately following the statement that caused the run-time error, or with the statement immediately following the most recent call out of the procedure containing the On Error Resume Next statement. This allows execution to continue despite a run-time error. The error-handling routine inline within the procedure can then be built to handle the error.
- An On Error Resume Next statement becomes inactive when another procedure is called, so an On Error Resume Next statement should be executed in each called routine if inline error handling within that routine is needed. When a procedure is exited, the error-handling capability reverts to whatever error-handling was in place before entering the exited procedure.
- On Error GoTo 0 is used to disable error handling if On Error Resume Next have previously been enabled.

SyntaxOption Explicit ArgumentOption ExplicitRequired. to specify explicit declaration.Remarks- The Option Explicit statement must be appeared in a script before any other statements.
- When using the Option Explicit statement, all variables must be explicitly declared using the Dim, Private, Public, or ReDim statements. If you attempt to use an undeclared variable name, an error occurs.
- If Option Explicit is not used, a variable can be declared implicitly just by using its name in the script. However, this is not generally a good practice because misspell the variable name in one or more locations, may causes unexpected results when the script is run. For that reason, the Option Explicit statement is available to require explicit declaration of all variables.

Syntax
Randomize [number] ArgumentRandomizeRequired. to Initialize the random-number generator.numberRequired. any valid numeric expression.Remarks- Randomize uses number to initialize the Rnd function's random-number generator, giving it a new seed value. If you omit number, the value returned by the system timer is used as the new seed value.
- If Randomize is not used, the Rnd function (with no arguments) uses the same number as a seed the first time it is called, and thereafter uses the last generated number as a seed value.
- To repeat sequences of random numbers, call Rnd with a negative argument immediately before using Randomize with a numeric argument. Using Randomize with the same value for number does not repeat the previous sequence.
