Personal Pronouns
In general, a simple personal pronoun is a word used to represent
the subjective or objective noun object of a sentence which is a definite object
or an indefinite object that have been mentioned before.
As a representation of a singular subject, word "I" is used in first person, word "you" is used in second person, and words "he, she, it" are used in third person.
Since words "I" and "you" are used to represent a definite first or second person, the consideration of gender is not needed. But for a third person that have been mentioned before,
the consideration of gender is needed to make the expression of a sentence more clear in sense. By means of gender, word "he" is for masculine object, word "she" is for feminine
object, and word "it" is for neuter object, thing, animal and situation
etc.

Tom is a boy. He is a male.

Mary is a girl. She is a female.

A fire truck is a fire-fighting vehicle. It is red in
color.

a friend of humans. It is

The user is not able to close the door properly.

As a representation of plural subjects, there is a corresponding
plural form for each singular form, word "we" is used in first person,
word "you" is used in second person, and word "they" are used in third person for all types of gender. Word "you" is the same for both singular and plural forms.

Tom and I are travelling to Europe in May. We start in Italy.
- You and Mary form a couple.
You are a team of two people that understand each other.

Tom and Mary won a trip to Europe for 14 days. They
plan to start at a later date.
